The Russian Revolution between 1917 to 1920 resulted in the first country under communist rule and propaganda posters played a huge part in shaping the public consciousness of the time. These posters were used to encourage the great new society, help eliminate illiteracy and promote good health - Lenin himself used propaganda posters to attack opponents of his party. During the late 1920's and early 1930's, Russia used posters to focus on the 'Five Year Plans', they were also used to promote the collectivisation of agriculture and heavy industry. 

These posters were powerfully designed, with dynamic contrasts in color and shape. Later in the 1930's, Constructivism fell from favour and Social Realism took its place. Poster prints then depicted happy young workers, determined soldiers and, most important of all, Joseph Stalin. We have 49 prints available, these posters are approx 27.5" X 18.75" in size and can be custom framed.
